CENTER FOR HEAD INJURY SERVICES HIRES NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

The Center for Head Injury Services is proud to announce that Mary Lee Salzer has accepted the position of Executive Director of the organization.

Salzer brings over 25 years of non-profit management experience to the leadership of the non-profit organization.  Her experience includes management, regulatory compliance, fundraising, grant writing and marketing. Salzer holds a Masters Degree in Non-Profit Management from Duke University.

The Center serves disabled individuals throughout the St. Louis area who are recovering from traumatic brain injuries by providing occupational therapy, vocational training, job coaching and a variety of other services.  The Center also serves adults living with autism thru its Midwest Adult Autism Project.

In addition to direct client services, The Center provides transition and training into the workforce for its clients.  People with disabilities represent one of the largest untapped human resource pools.  More than 15 million working-age Americans that are unemployed have a disability, about 10 million of whom want to be employed.  The Center works with all members of the community – including persons with disabilities, employers, government agencies and other organizations – to eliminate barriers to employment and bridge the gap between job seekers with disabilities and employers.

“The Board of Directors is thrilled to have Mary Lee joining the Center!  We look forward to her leadership in the years ahead,” commented Mark R. Stallmann President of the Center.

“I am excited to be part of this great organization and look forward to helping it grow and build on its vital mission in the years ahead,” commented Salzer.
