James (Jay) Smith, IV
Interim Executive Director
James (Jay) Smith, IV, previously volunteered at the Center and on its Board of Directors for over 30 years. He became Interim Executive Director in 2021.
Jay earned his Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1985 and his Master of Business Administration from St. Louis University in 1995. He is a licensed CPA. He specialized in healthcare and not-for-profit entities during his career.
He has a sister, Kelly, who suffered a traumatic brain injury on May 23, 1976. He understands the need for services for individuals with disabilites, along with the resulting impact on their families and loved ones.
