The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital supports the work and mission of Barnes-Jewish Hospital, as well as its affiliates and community partners. The Foundation touches thousands of lives each year by strengthening and promoting:
- vital research that leads to treatment breakthroughs
- patient care and services for those who need financial assistance
- nursing scholarships and continuing education opportunities
- community outreach programs
The Center is fortunate to have received grants from the Foundation to support our mission. We received a $25,000 grant toward our capital campaign for our new headquarters, which helped to create a medical therapy treatment wing and gym specially designed to meet the needs of our consumers.
The Center also received a similar-sized grant to enhance the delivery of our occupational therapy and community re-entry program so that the Center can provide the optimum level of service and treatment options as our consumer numbers grow. Funds from this grant went towards purchasing laptops and tablets that allow our therapists and trainers to efficiently provide services for consumers in their homes; purchasing ADA dishwashers, stoves, a washer and a dryer to assess and help teach independent living skills and purchasing physical therapy equipment accessories for advanced treatment options.
Through the Foundation’s support, the Center is able to provide state-of-the-art medical therapies and the best possible independence training to our consumers.
Thank you, Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital!
