DIRECTOR OF TRAINING AND TRANSITION SERVICES

Heather Cowan has been working in the field of disability services and advocacy since 2002. Her background includes providing ABA therapy, residential home management, employment services, vocational training, program leadership, and transition services. Heather has created and facilitated trainings for area school districts on job-coaching strategies and self-determination for people with disabilities to improve transition services between school and adult services. In 2019 she received Special School District’s Ambassador Award for exceptional service to St. Louis County students. She graduated from Maryville University with a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership and is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health at the University of Missouri St. Louis. Heather joined the Center in 2016 as Talent Connect Training Coordinator and in 2019, Heather began her role as Director of Training and Transition Services.
